What’s in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet...
Really, Juliet? Would it? Are you sure?
Have you ever googled your name? I don't google other people ever, but probably every year or two, I google my own name. There's nothing to be found other than I want to keep up with the other Kristen Traceys of the world and sort of ask, "Hey, Kristen Tracey(s), are y'all behaving yourselves?" And I'm happy to report that they are. I hadn't done this in quite some time but I felt compelled to do it in early January. Kristen Tracey(s) that pop up: one who lives in San Francisco and is a published author of young adult books and another who went to Harvard and is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing. Well done, Kristen Tracey(s)! I hope to have my childrens books published and make y'all proud if you google your own name one day in the future. My heart skipped a beat when I saw an obituary for a Kristen Tracy (slight difference in the last name spelling). She died on April 9, 2015. My birthday is April 9th. Is this merely a coincidence? We share the same name and a significant date? Weird...
So, really... what's in a name? Apparently A LOT because when I did a (free) name analysis at kabalarians.com, it was me, spot on:
Your name Kristen makes you a quick, analytical thinker seeking for the reason of life, liking to explore new lines of activity. New undertakings and adventure appeal to your desire for new experiences and change. Your versatile, energetic qualities allow you to excel along many lines of endeavour: sales, management, teaching or, if other qualities in your names permit, music or art. You enjoy the challenge of promoting new ideas, and persuading others to your point of view. Life around you is seldom dull. You are independent, trustworthy, and reliable, able to accomplish whatever you concentrate upon. Being responsible, persistent, and decisive, you are drawn into positions of authority.
Although you enjoy working with people, you resent pressure and tend to criticize those who subject you to it. This name gives you depth of mind, vision, and foresight, enabling you to direct others and to handle many aspects of an enterprise. However, you require freedom and independence in carrying out your responsibilities. Otherwise, you suffer with unhappiness, moods of depression, and feelings of frustration and repression. At these times, you may become sarcastic and faultfinding. In response to being told what to do, often you will do the opposite, even when it means going against your better judgment. You will not tolerate interference. Under pressure, you appear placid as though everything is under control, but you could be suffering inner turmoil and anxiety.
High performance and efficiency are important to you. Occasionally, you are impatient with the lack of expertise of others and frustrated with their incompetence. These are the times you are likely to step right in and do the job yourself, rather than leaving it for others. Monotonous, detailed chores are a nuisance, and you resist finishing those tasks. You are happiest when progress is being made. Principled in many ways, you do not make idle promises, and have little use for those who do. Being strong-willed, you must work at being diplomatic, tactful, and considerate of the needs of others.
Your sensitivity and intuition enable you to discern the intentions of others. You often respond to your feelings about people or events, and many times your premonitions turn out to be accurate. Being naive and trusting of others, you have experienced disappointments. Since you seldom forget an incident, you can hold grudges for years.
As an active person, you must find constructive outlets through creative expression, you otherwise suffer feelings of intensity and restlessness, especially when life becomes monotonous.
Outdoor activities and active sports could provide an outlet for your intense energetic qualities. You have strong likes and dislikes, often doing to extreme those activities you enjoy.
Now I want to get to know some more Kristens. Where are you ladies? Let's together and talk about ourselves- our favorite thing to do, am I right? And now I'm thinking back on certain people (names) that I've never much cared for! Haha, like I'm going to tell you! Look up your name on kabalarians.com and see if it fits you. Google your name and see if the other people who share the same name have similar interests. I admit that I looked up the name Philip for a name analysis. Do you know any Philips? My obsession continues because my Mom texted the other week after she read one of my blog posts about the Philips I've known. Here... I'll type it exactly as she texted it:
"Just finished catching up reading your blogs! Read how a Philip in kindergarten showed you his penis when you were 5. I wish you would have told me. I also had a similar experience when I was 4 1/2 with a Philip! Really! And he was about 5! It was summer & he had a small 2 wheel bike that I had been practicing on when I could. I like it b/c my feet touched flat on the ground easily. I walked down the alley to his house & knocked on the wooden screen door to see if I could borrow his bike. He came to the door in his underpants & as I was asking, he pulled down his pants & showed me his wiener!!! I was shocked & also told a friend. Apparently he did that a lot with all the kids! I did borrow his bike & was determined I would learn to ride that 2 wheeler. I did learn that summer but had to wait until Christmas to get my very own bike!"
Okay now, how bizarre that Mom has a similar Philip story?! The name Philip, when I read about it, is very complex. Oh fine, here's a sampler:
You find very few who live up to your high ideals; in fact, you do not yourself at all times... You tend to build your world around one person whom you idolize and then, through being over-possessive, you could lose the love and understanding of that person... You are quite secretive in many ways, and do not like people to pry; nor do you show friendship readily... You feel so much more than you can put into words that your feelings often overwhelm you; especially when there is a beautiful, dramatic portrayal or a performance by little children that is very touching... Your feelings are very intense and far too sensitive for you to control properly... There are two things that can bring you relaxation: The peace of nature, and beautiful music, preferably the violin or organ... This name is very detrimental to your happiness and fulfilment in life.
Y'all. I didn't make any of that up! Okay, fine, I took the word "organ" out of context, but I'm only using what I've been given. If you're pregnant, get searching on that perfect name. I doubt you want to choose Philip.
So what's that you said about a name, Juliet? Curious about your precious Romeo? Me too...
Under the names of Romeo Montague you are called upon to give more than you receive. Because of your humanitarian ideals, you are drawn into positions in which you are required to assist the underpriviliged, to serve others, and to express kindness, sympathy, and understanding. As you are often taken advantage of by others, shattered ideals, bitter experiences with people, and personal and material losses are all too familiar experiences. These names intensify emotional outbursts and create instability in associations. Business dealings are often rather chaotic bringing financial losses as a result of the negligence, misrepresentation, or outright dishonesty of others. Your combined names do not allow you to establish stable, secure, and accumulative financial conditions in your life. Your great ambitions and high ideals all too often end in frustration and despondency. These names could create rather tragic circumstances in your life.
Yep, he sounds like a winner.
